Introduction

Prime Minister Narendra Modi honored the late Atal Bihari Vajpayee on his birthday at the ‘Sadaiv Atal’ memorial. Vajpayee, a former Prime Minister and key figure in the BJP, was remembered on December 25th, his birth anniversary.

Yogi Adityanath mentioned the upcoming centenary celebrations in honor of Vajpayee’s birth in 1924. He announced plans for various programs throughout the year, culminating in a grand celebration on December 25, 2024. Adityanath also acknowledged and honored several personalities on this special occasion.

Vajpayee’s Political Journey

Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s political career started in 1957 when he was elected to the Lok Sabha. His leadership peaked in 1996 when he led BJP to its first victory in general elections.

During his third term, Vajpayee achieved a historic milestone, leading a stable government that completed its full term. He was recognized for his powerful speeches and regarded as a skilled statesman. Despite a brief premiership setback in 1996, Vajpayee made a strong comeback, leading the country until 2004.
